Another successful Millennium Green Fête held on Saturday 31st May, 2025
It was a sunny day in all ways with a very happy "field of folk". From all our trustees & committee comes enormous thanks for you contribution — whereas Desborough can thank the trustees themselves who put in a year's preparation & twelve hours slog as well as enjoyment on the day.
The Sixties Brass Band was superb as ever, indeed better, and I wish we could run an occasion with the Band only. The Revive Tea Tent and the DCDT BBQ likewise excellent. There was entertainment for all ages — a great many very small children attempting to catch giant bubbles this year; surprisingly not as many older generation as in previous sunny years — all our shade-giving, lovely & interesting trees perhaps forgotten. Plenty of variety & invention in local organisation stalls: wow to the largesse of DCDT; congratulations to Desborough WI for its ruby year; and Wilbarston Wildlife Group — well what gardening, what plants! And so on with all the other stalls, circus skills training & giant bouncy slides: so much activity & interest crowded onto our small Green before it returned to a tranquil space.Belinda Humpfrey
